WELCOME!

I am your ordinary, Utugwang girl next door- Not like many of you have met many Utugwang girls in your life! Notwithstanding, i will be taking you through the life and times of a proud Utugwang girl. For those of you who have met an Utugwang person in your lifetime, you will agree with me that we are a remarkable set of people. Difficult to forget after the first encounter! I will take you through our traditions, expose you to our people and our culture and generally teach you some things about the Utugwang people. From our name, you may think we are a tribe found somewhere in Asia. Far from it, we are one of the tiny minority tribes in Nigeria. Utugwang is a village found in Obudu Local Government of Cross River State, Nigeria. It is a tranquil little village not yet spoilt by pollution and the likes. You still fall asleep under the stars to the sound of cricket and frogs, see the bright moon shining overhead, hear the sound of the river flowing by and breathe fresh air lacking in so many big cities around the world. Utugwang is beautiful without doubt. Beautiful in all the ways that are natural. The villagers count their days based on the market, which is once in five days. Palmwine is fresh from the palm tree and children eat fruits plucked straight from the tree. You may call all i have said, ancient, but i call it heaven!

i guess the entire Obudu local government area has decided to turn itself into a "GARDEN OF EDEN" of our times. That is a refreshing change.
